Tangihanga (funeral) will take precedence over all Hui. This may mean postponing your hui or holding it at another venue. Tikanga Maori and Kawa are the customs and protocols that are practiced and set by the Marae. Additional Charges will be added for requests that are over and above standard arrangements of the Marae. Please ensure to communicate your requirements clearly when making your booking. Cancellation If you need to cancel your Hui, please let Te Awhina Marae know asap. Cancellations within 1 week will result in full or part charges being made. Smoke Free - Te Āwhina Marae proudly supports a smoke free environment. A designated smoking area is provided. Alcohol is only permitted by approval from the Board of Trustees and should be requested in writing.
